All of you must be planning for Ganapati so there are couple of useful items on the WEB that I would like mention:

 

1. Lighting the Way to My Heritage: Mr. Ravi Gaonkar from Cleavland, OH, has created a book and DVD. The Book provides glimpses of India's long History, Philosophy and Religions and also an overview of the Dynasties that flourished on this soil and India's contributions to the world in Mathematics, Medicine, Literature, Music and Performing Arts. The DVD is a "Hands-on" tool to practice certain aspects of Indian culture and Sanaatana Dharma; Included (39) Sanskrit Shlokas will help set a routine of practice. It also contains a short Saraswati Pooja which the young children can perform by simply following the DVD. In addition, the most famous Lore of Lord GaNesh GaNapati Atharva-SheerSha is included in the DVD. This will not only help the children & grand-childern but even some of the grand-parents who have not practiced this famous prayer of Lord GaNesh. The DVD is narrated in English and all Sanskrit recitations are accompanied by English transliterations (sub-titles) which will help the user during recitations.
