2010/07/19 - Caution about Artist's VISA status

Namaskar,

As Ganapati and Diwali approaches, we get proposals from Artists from India. As we all know they are really good and we do want to enjoy their talent. But in order to perform by charging money, the artists must have a valid P3 visa. As you all know, BMM has organized Ramdas Padhye's tour in September-October. I personally talked to the lawyer and have submitted paper work for Padhye's P3 visa. According to the lawyer, the artists must have P3 visa. Paying anyone on visitor visa is illegal. As head of an organization, I strongly recommend you all to check the visa status of the performing artists. Organization will be liable and scrutinized if the word goes out to INS.

With best regards,

Madhuri Joshi
President, BMM
